The New Gate (and Bench) are in!

A little while ago we shared the news that St Rumon's was getting a beautiful new hand-made gate. We're delighted to share that the new hand-made gate and bench at St Rumon's are now installed and in place.

A big thank you once again to David Ames for crafting such a beautiful piece and restoring the original Victorian ironwork found on the gate to keep it’s integrity. And thanks to Geoff Duck for donating the oak it's made from, and John Barnham, who lent a hand with the installation itself - and others who helped to make light work of getting the gate properly hung and swinging smoothly for the first time in years.

It's a wonderful thing to see a project like this come together through the efforts of those in our small community and it's a real pleasure to see something made so entirely within our own community now forming a permanent part of St Rumon's. Every joint and every grain of oak carries a little of Romansleigh's own story — from the tree it came from, to the hands that shaped it and everyone who will pass through that gate or pause on that bench in the years ahead.

Our heartfelt thanks go to David for his craftsmanship and generosity, and to Geoff for the gift of the oak that made it all possible.
